The York High men's soccer team had a decent start to the 2022 spring season, winning 4 of its first 6 games. With some tough games against big schools such as Jamestown and Smithfield, York lost its next 5 games, 3 of which were at home.
Christian Russell (So.) on varsity said, “We need to pick up the energy.”
The team had a meeting to discuss a tactical change. The team applied these changes in its Tuesday night game against Bruton High School. York came away with a two goals to none away victory over Bruton, ending the losing streak.
“This is exactly the momentum we need going forward,” said senior captain Gabe Brainard after the win.
York had four games before playoffs with senior night on May 20th. The season ended in May.
