The School of the Arts students held a Senior Recognition Night at which students showcased their skills through skits and song parodies. This year, senior theater students also had the opportunity to direct juniors through scenes. They created props, made their own sets, and decided on costumes.
Senior Savannah Payne said, “Doing our showcase, my class and I have been able to really express ourselves and show all of the hard work and effort we have been putting in over the past four years. It has been so fun!”
In addition to that, dance students participated in the 2023 Jubilee, a celebration of dance and music. This event included a live band performance.
Finally, literary arts students submitted their own one act plays into the Spark Playwriting competition. Freshman Amrit Vyas placed in this competition.
In January, literary arts students hosted the “Literary Café” in which they read poetry and excerpts from their writing, performed skits and songs, and displayed art pieces. Sophomore Rachel Crosby said, “I like the literary café because it gives the opportunity to students to show off skills other than writing.”
SOA’s musical this year was a school production of Rock of Ages.
