The York High School track and field team competed at the VHSL Class 3 state championships the weekend of June 4th. The girls team finished 13 out of 38 teams in the competition. First team all-state was awarded to Ciarra Moore, receiving 2ndplace in the triple jump. Danni Hollingtin was also awarded First Team All-State, receiving 3rdplace in the 400 meter run. The Second All-State team honors were given to Grace Katzer for her 5thand 7thplace finishes in the 800 and 1600 meter runs respectively. Those honors were also awarded to Giuliana Verry for her 8thplace finish in the pole vault. Other state participants included Julia Bruner, Brian Burks, Akira Durham, Trinity Fields, Micah Leech, Skylar Moss, Adele Priolet, Tyler Quick, Eve Rice, and Kadynce Washington. The York Falcons had a successful trip to track and field states in 2022.
