Seniors Paint Ceiling Tiles

As part of a senior project, beginning in May, students at York High School have been painting ceiling tiles. Many seniors are painting ceiling tiles to reflect their time at York High.

In Rachael Reid's photography class, many students are painting slogans or inspirational quotations. Senior Breana Ward said, “I am using my tile to hopefully make someone's day better when he or she looks at it.”

Students are also painting ceiling tiles in art classes such as AP 2D Art, Art III, and Art IV. Seniors Kennedy Hofstra and Miranda Byrum are painting their future college plans. Kennedy Hofstra painted the James Madison logo. Miranda Byrum painted the East Carolina Pirate. However, these ceiling tiles are not always college plans.

In science classes, many students are painting information from units of study. In anatomy class, many students drew skeletons or circulatory systems. In Amber LaMonte's environmental science class, students drew rivers and trees and promoted banning single-use plastics. Finally, in Deborah August's AP Statistics class, students drew unit circles in designs of Care Bears or balloons.
