Senior York High School students gathered at Bailey Field on May 21st for the Senior Send Off, a replacement for the former After Prom events. At 6 p.m. on May 21st , Bailey Field opened its gates to the York High class of 2022 for a night of activities and prizes before getting rained out early at 8 p.m.

York High’s Senior Send Off event consisted of bounce castles, sports, raffles, eating competitions, and many more activities and prizes.
The activities consisted of a fry eating competition, bounce castles, and inflatable hamster balls. The money machine awarded a top prize for those who could grab the most money. Justin Beamon won the $350 top prize. Nik Bloom won the fry-eating competition.
The prizes consisted of a guaranteed 30 dollars in the goodie bags given to everyone as they left as well as gift card raffles. Andrew Victoria said he won a “$50 Wawa gift card from a raffle I think everyone was entered in and $30 was in a goodie bag everyone got when they left.” Kezia Babu said, “I won $80.”
Eventually, the event ended as a storm rolled in a little after 8p.m. The event ended “about 30 minutes early; it hadn’t really started raining hard, but there was lighting so I guess we had to go,” said Victoria.

While the event may have been cut short, students walked away with money and gift cards. “It was a fun school event that did have some fun activities, especially for the price of the ticket,” said Joaquin Lao.
