The SOA (School of the Arts) program in York County featured several shows and performances in 2022. They were able to performing to live audiences this year. One of the highlights was a concert version of the show The Addams Family in February. The concert version was specifically written for COVID times so that actors could socially distance. This also meant that the show was condensed a bit from the full stage play.
“My favorite part was just being able to perform live again. I haven’t been able to perform outside of a video ever since COVID,” said Morgen Bender (Sr.).
The latest project that senior SOA students worked on was their senior sendoff performance. Students who are seniors in the program worked on projects that were showcased. The sendoff included a parody of a show, poetry readings, a dance number, and a student written skit.
“It’s strange that my days at SOA are over because it’s been such a big part of my life. It’s exciting that we’re all stepping into the future,” said Kenzie Crosby (Sr.). Students from Tabb, York, Grafton and Bruton take classes at SOA in theater, literature, and dance.
