Making it all the way to the second round of playoffs before a loss to Petersburg where they lost 55-39, the boys team had a season with a few highlights. The team finished 9 and 9 in the Bay Rivers District and 11 and 11 overall for the season.
Notable wins included a game against Bruton, which the Falcons won 48-47 in overtime. Amari Gorham (Sr.) scored 15 points in that game, Smith-Walker scored 11, and Brooks Morgan (So.) scored 15. The team also beat Grafton 49-42.
Milyan Smith-Walker (Jr.) was named First Team All-Region. Amari Gorham (Sr.) was named Second Team All-Region.
Other seniors on the team included Jackson Evans, Krishna Patel, Brendan Leng, Kaden Leng, and Daniel Brewster.
For next year, returning players include Smith-Walker, Danny Victoria (So.), Donovan Gates (Fr.), AJ Martinez (Jr.), and Morgan (So.).
Coach Charles Brown will return to lead the varsity boys. JV coach Jordan Soles led his team to a record of 4-14.
Smith-Walker played versus Lafayette, and averaged 18 points per game with 8 rebounds; Breana Ward (Sr.) cheered in the background.
