2022 York Boys Lacrosse Season Ends

The boys’ lacrosse team ended the season with a record of 4-4 lead by 10 seniors on the team. The team went 4-3 during the regular season and lost the first round of playoffs against Cox High School, ending its season.

The seniors’ last season in the club sport came to a close after the loss to Cox. Ten seniors anchored the team: Nik Bloom, Will McLaughlin, Conner Hamilton, Connor Kelley, Luke Neyer, Jack Katzer, Jake Hockaday, Luke Ebe, Kolton Hammond, and Joel Mahaffy.

The quarterfinals were played at Princess Ann Athletic Complex on May 16th, 2022 against Cox High School. The final score was 10-9 with Cox winning.

Carter Chapin (So.) said, “We had a decent season so far, and it was the first playoff game,needing to win, and had a devastating lost by 1.”

Will Mclaughlin said, “I wouldn’t say that the playoff game was the most important. I would say the Kellam High School game was because that was when we finally started playing like a team and showed some real heart.”

As the season ended, Chapin said, “The seniors really helped me enjoy lacrosse this season and were very encouraging, along with the coaches being supportive.”
