The Falcons made it to the state quarterfinals but faced a tough 1-0 loss. The team faced tough losses to Kellam, Tabb, and Monticello to end its season.
“This team had an incredible bond which helped us connect on and off the field,” said Bri Anderson (Jr.).
The coaches encourage team building by giving all the seniors a “life seat,” an activity in which each senior sits in the seat and all the other teammates talk about the things they love about the senior in the seat and all her accomplishments and memories. Coach Dani Waters led the varsity team. Mackenzie Zabicki Walling coached the junior varsity team. Mallory Holup said, “The life seat brings all of us together and helps the younger girls to bond with the seniors.”
Seniors Gaby Youngpeter, Holup, Lacy Parrish, and Julia Skinner were among the seniors recognized for their play in the season. Maddy Miller was named 1st goalkeeper, and Holup earned All State At Large player honors. Holup was one of three utility players to earn the 1st Team designation in the 3A classification.
